ROSEBUD READS

Rosebud Reads was founded in 2015 and is a non-profit children’s literacy program dedicated to promoting literacy among the next generation of Natives living on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation and kids living in low-income homes in Houston and West Texas. Rosebud Reads holds Book Clubs and donates gently used books to kids who may not be able to afford them.

ROSEBUD SIOUX TRIBE

The Rosebud Indian Reservation is the home of the Sicangu Lakota or Rosebud Sioux Tribe and is located on the sweeping plains of South Dakota, in Todd County. Modern Natives are strong and proud people, but Todd County has the second lowest per-capita income in the United States and 49% of the population lives below the poverty line.
